Between the 23rd and 24th of June, I took part in the final meeting of the FOREST (Forestry Operators Reflecting on Equalizing Skills and training) project, an Erasmus+ K2 Strategic Partnership project. The project partners were from five different countries: Croatia, Slovenia, Austria, Italy, and Romania.
The whole project was coordinated by ALDA - European Association for Local Democracy, a key stakeholder in the field of local democracy, active citizenship, and cooperation between local authorities and civil society.
This final meeting's purpose was to reflect upon the research done over the course of three years regarding equalizing forestry skills in Europe and the inclusion of women in this male-dominated field (a topic analyzed by ANFMR)
Veneto Agricoltura organized the meeting and it took place at Hangar Cansiglio, a building part of a former NATO US military base (active during the Cold War) which is now used as a conference hall.
The meeting also included a visit to the botanical garden of Veneto Agricoltura.
